| ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line): | ADSL is an access technology that enables transmission of voice and high-speed data to be sent simultaneously over local exchange service copper facilities. It supports transmission rates of from 1.5 to 9 Mbps when receiving data (the downstream rate) and from 16 to 640 Kbps when transmitting data (the upstream rate). ADSL requires a special ADSL modem. |

| Auto-attendant: | A software-driven voice menu system that can transfer calls to a specific extension without the need of a telephone operator. Users can perform such functions as dial -by-name to connect. |
| Autodialer: | An electronic device that can automatically dial telephone numbers. |
